Over 2,000 migrants quarantined in U.S. detention centers over mumps, other viral outbreaks

In the past year, 51 detention facilities notified U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials of 236 mumps cases—compared with no cases detected in the previous two years. Influenza and chicken pox affected a combined 884 detainees last year. Most of the culprit diseases are mostly preventable by immunization. (Reuters)
